Sakari Oramo takes over the baton from Daniel Barenboim

Due to health reasons, Daniel Barenboim has with great regret had to cancel the concerts from 8 to 10 May at the Philharmonie Berlin and the concert on 18 May as part of the Mahler Festival in Amsterdam.

The Berliner Philharmoniker are very grateful to Sakari Oramo for his willingness to take over the programme unchanged. Oramo conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, is honorary conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and has been a regular guest conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2001.
